Celebrate with me!

Today is a momentous day.

I have cleaned the basement refrigerator.

"Uh-huh," you say. People, this is a big thing. I don't think I've ever cleaned this fridge in the six years we've lived here, except for maybe right after we moved in. Today, I cleaned it, and it took me about 2 hours. It was filthy. There was sticky stuff in the bottom of the freezer and fridge and mildew around the door seals. And all kinds of loose debris that took forever to get out.

I used my usual mopbucket filled with hot water and baking soda, along with some help from spray bleach cleaner and a toothbrush with toothpaste.

Did you know you can use some toothpaste with a toothbrush to safely remove mildew from your rubber door seals? If you're a slob like me and let your fridge get that dirty, try it. I learned that little trick from BBC America's "How Clean is Your House?". I love BBC America. I swear I'm a British girl trapped in a Kentucky girl's body.

By the way, did you all like my new blog header?

Yes, I LOVE the new header. I have got to learn how to do this myself. But, I like the one Maggie designed, so I guess I'm just not in a hurry. Congrats on the clean fridge. I know it feels so good.
