Why I keep going every day

I cherish their innocence, their unconditional love, their wonder and excitement they show each day. They don't hold grudges or resentment. Their laughs are pure joy--every emotion they show is pure and true. They have more faith than I do most of the time.

When Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3), He couldn't have been more right.
They believe and trust undoubtingly. I wish they could never see my own doubt, anger, and disbelief. I wish I could shield them from all the ugliness of this world, but I must send them out in it. I pray that we can guide them toward Jesus, then know that He is guiding them through their lives, each step of the way.

So very true! It's an ugly world out there, isn't it?! You are a wonderful example to your children...keep up the great work!

There is a verse Jesus said once, "But he did not entrust himself to them, because he knew what was in the heart of man."

He ministered to them, went out to heal them, taught, preached...and yet, he know all about them, what was really in their heart of hearts, and he "could not entrust himself to them".

It's good to me to know that Jesus himself realized that we are in progress...we all have limits as to what we can be entrusted with according to where we are in life. And yet...he still poured himself all for them, ultimately to death on the cross. He guarded himself, and yet laid himself down.

Yes...may we teach our little ones to be like Jesus...and may we somehow exemplify that life in Him for them to follow!

Have you ever had your child on a pic nic table or something similar? Hold your arms out and say "jump!". Withoug hesitation they leep into your arms.

That is child-like faith. They know without a doubt that the love we have for them will keep them from any danger in the world.

A child-like faith...

That kind of faith is what I strive toward. It's a shame that it's harder to have that kind of faith as we get older and experience the hurt of life. There's hardly a day that goes by when I don't ask Jesus to give me strength because I don't have any power through me. When I decide to give in, to let Him lead, to trust Him to guide, I feel so much peace.
