Zachary Bryan arrived yesteday, March 8, at 12:11 pm CST. He weighed 7 lbs, 1 oz and 20 in long. Surprisingly one ounce lighter than Zoe and 2 weeks later than she was :) He was born on his due date, another surprise, since both our girls were early by 3 and 2 weeks.
We just brought him home and we're exhausted. Bryan's parents, sister and brother-in-law are here and they are going to take Zoe for a week so we can have a little more peace at home.
Megan is already crazy about him. Zoe's not quite so sure. I think she hasn't quite grasped that Zachary is what was in mama's big belly for so long. I think she likes him, but it's just shocked her a bit.
Here's the shortened story of the labor and delivery for now. I'll catch you up on details and more pics later after I've rested. Yesterday, 4 am, water broke. Nothing happened much until 9:30, when irregular light contractions started. By 11 am, very active labor had begun and by 11:30 we had left for the 1/2 hour ride to the hospital. By that time, I was in transition, which is the last stage before you push!! We rode in our 4 wheel drive very quickly (to say the least) on the snowy roads, got to the hospital, got to the delivery room about 11:49 AM, and he was born 22 minutes later at 12:11 PM. We just about didn't make it. 3 pushes and he was out. We are still in shock that he came so fast. But we are totally in love! He's nursing well and is calm and preciously cuddly. Thanks for all the prayers for a safe drive and delivery!
