The new debate

We're debating between hubby and I about how to shorten Zachary's name. I've been using Z-a-c-h. Bryan says it looks better as Z-a-c-k. I don't really have a strong preference one way or another. Shortened names have always intrigued me, like how William is sometimes "Bill" and not "Will" or Charles is "Chuck". Anywho, I've added a poll in my sidebar. Vote away!! It'll be interesting to see and may sway our decision.

Man! That is a tough one! I would agree in some ways that phonetically it is better as Zack, however, teaching a five year old how to spell his name...a different letter could get confusing.

Do you want to learn to write his full name in K and 1st, or just his nick name? That would be the clincher question I suppose. Like when you enroll him in school, can you use his nickname? No..he'll probably have to bubble his full name.

Hmmmm. That would be tough.

I vote for Zach...as if my vote really counts. I'm not even really sure why I prefer it that way...just do. Z-a-c-k for some reason at this moment makes me think of h-a-c-k. That's my 2 cents.

Zach will work better with teaching him to spell his name and Zack sounds like a delivery truck, LOL.

Have you thought about "Zac"?

I like "Baby Z", "Z man", "Zach attack". Sorry. My husband tries out each boy name as if he is being introduced onto the football field or someone is using his name in play by play. How fun for me.
