Thursday's Laugh Out Loud!

While putting away laundry this morning, I turned the bedroom TV on to keep from getting bored and "The View" happened to be on. I am definitely NOT a fan of this show. I'm not sure why anyone is, except that maybe it's like watching a train wreck. The first few minutes the ladies discuss "hot topics", and they all start yelling over each other and I guess maybe I was hoping for a cat fight or food fight or something. The most I get out of it is the sound of a bunch of hens laying eggs. Kinda like this:

Thursday's Laugh Out Loud

Today, I've determined that the squirrels in my neighborhood are going through a suicidal phase. Another one tried to run out in front of me today as I was going to pick up the kids. Luckily, I was on squirrel-alert and was able to slow down in time. Have you ever wondered what a squirrel's suicide note would look like? Maybe like this?

Now, for some squirrel fun--

Q: How do you catch a squirrel? A: Run up a tree and act like a nut
Q Why did the chicken cross the road? A; To show the squirrel how its done.

Wanna put your squirreliness to the test? Play this mildly challenging squirrel game:

Thursday's Laugh Out Loud and Snopesed out thing too

I received this e-mail from a cousin:

SERIOUSLY? NEW YORK - Idaho resident Kathy Evans brought humiliation to her friends and family Tuesday when she set a new standard for stupidity with her appearance on the popular TV show, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire."It seems that Evans, a 32-year-old wife and mother of two, got stuck on the first question, and proceeded to make what fans of the show are dubbing "the absolute worst use of lifelines ever."After being introduced to the show's host Meredith Vieira, Evans assured her that she was ready to play, whereupon she was posed with an extremely easy $100 question. The question was:"Which of the following is the largest?"A) A PeanutB) An ElephantC) The MoonD) (Then a bunch of other stuff about how she used up two lifelines, and argued with the show host and then her answer...)I'm going to have to go with B, an elephant. Final answer."Evans sat before the dumbfounded audience, the only one waiting with bated breath, and was told that she was wrong, and that the answer was in fact, C, 'The Moon."

This, in fact, is a spoof. The real lady in the picture is from a UK version of the show and actually did quite well. Not sure who has the time on their hands to Photoshop the fake answers and send them out, but it looks quite real. Here's the article:

Thursday's Laugh Out Loud, a day late

After that somber Amber Alert Post, I had to post a funny one. This could easily happen in my neck of the woods :) I titled it:

The Magic Door

A redneck family from the hills was visiting the city and they were in
a mall for the first time in their lives. The father and son were
strolling around while the wife shopped. They were amazed by almost
everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that
could move apart and then slide back together again. The boy asked,
"Paw, what's at?"
The father (never having seen an elevator) responded, "Son, I dunno. I
ain't never seen nuttin' like that in my entire life, I ain't got no idea'r what it is."
While the boy and his father were watching with amazement, an
overweight, elderly lady in a wheel chair rolled up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched the small circular number above the walls light up sequentially.
They continued to watch until it reached the last number and then the numbers began to light in the reverse order. Then the walls opened up again and a gorgeous, voluptuous 24 year-old blonde woman stepped out.

The father, not taking his eyes off the young woman, said quietly to
his son, "Boy..................go git cha Momma.......... "

Thursday's Laugh Out Loud!

My hubby sent me this hilarious list. I had to come out of my "regular weekly posting hiatus" to post this one. Be prepared to laugh!

If you remember the Original Hollywood Squares and its comics, this may bring a tear to your eyes. These great questions and answers are from the days when "Hollywood Squares" game show responses were spontaneous and clever, not scripted and (often) dull, as they are now. Peter Marshall was the host asking the questions, of course.

Q. Do female frogs croak?
A. Paul Lynde: If you hold their little heads under water long enough.

Q. If you're going to make a parachute jump, at least how high should you be?
A. Charley Weaver: Three days of steady drinking should do it.

Q. True or False, a pea can last as long as 5,000 years.
A. George Gobel: Boy, it sure seems that way sometimes.

Q. You've been having trouble going to sleep. Are you probably a man or a woman?
A. Don Knotts: That's what's been keeping me awake.

Q. According to Cosmopolitan, if you meet a stranger at a party and you think that he is attractive, is it okay to come out and ask him if he's married?
A. Rose Marie: No, wait until morning.

Q. Which of your five senses tends to diminish as you get older?
A. Charley Weaver: My sense of decency.

Q. In Hawaiian, does it take more than three words to say "I Love You"?
A. Vincent Price: No, you can say it with a pineapple and a twenty.

Q. What are "Do It," "I Can Help," and "I Can't Get Enough"?
A. George Gobel: I don't know, but it's coming from the next apartment.

Q. As you grow older, do you tend to gesture more or less with your hands while talking?
A. Rose Marie: You ask me one more growing old question Peter, and I'll give you a gesture you'll never forget.

Q. Paul, why do Hell's Angels wear leather?
A. Paul Lynde: Because chiffon wrinkles too easily.

Q. Charley, you've just decided to grow strawberries. Are you going to get any during the first year?
A. Charley Weaver: Of course not, I'm too busy growing strawberries.

Q. In bowling, what's a perfect score?
A. Rose Marie: Ralph, the pin boy.

Q. It is considered in bad taste to discuss two subjects at nudist camps. One is politics, what is the other?
A. Paul Lynde: Tape measures.

Q. During a tornado, are you safer in the bedroom or in the closet?
A. Rose Marie: Unfortunately Peter, I'm always safe in the bedroom.

Q. Can boys join the Camp Fire Girls?
A. Marty Allen: Only after lights out.

Q. When you pat a dog on its head he will wag his tail. What will a goose do?
A. Paul Lynde: Make him bark?

Q. If you were pregnant for two years, what would you give birth to?
A. Paul Lynde: Whatever it is, it would never be afraid of the dark.

Q. According to Ann Landers, is there anything wrong with getting into the habit of kissing a lot of people?
A. Charley Weaver: It got me out of the army.

Q. It is the most abused and neglected part of your body, what is it?
A. Paul Lynde: Mine may be abused, but it certainly isn't neglected.

Q. Who stays pregnant for a longer period of time, your wife or your elephant?
A. Paul Lynde: Who told you about my elephant?

Q. When a couple have a baby, who is responsible for its sex?
Charley Weaver: I'll lend him the car, the rest is up to him.

Q. Jackie Gleason recently revealed that he firmly believes in them and has actually seen them on at least two occasions. What are they?
A. Charley Weaver: His feet.

Q. According to Ann Landers, what are two things you should never do in bed?
A. Paul Lynde: Point and laugh.

Thursday's Laugh Out Loud--A day late again :)

I found 5 reasons why we tend to procrastinate on this site:

http://www.businesstown.com/time/time-5reasons.asp

They are:

  1. You Haven't Really Committed to Doing the Job
  2. You're Afraid of the Job
  3. You Don't Place a High Enough Priority on the Activity
  4. You Don't Know Enough to Do the Task
  5. You Just Plain Don't Wanna!

Oh, yeah, I'm all over number 5 there on most of my daily tasks. Also number 3 when it has related to my blog this week. And occasionally number 4 when I can't think of what to blog. I would also add 6. You just don't think about it or remember it. I just don't remember to blog sometimes or pay a bill or write things on my calendar or do a load of clothes for hubby when he's out of something. I bet you all can relate to these reasons and more. Winter is also just my hibernation time. I really don't get out much and don't want to. I don't want to do much more than the really necessary stuff--you know, keeping everyone fed and not stinking.

Now, much to my amusement (or dismay, can't decide) I present the Procrastinator's Creed:

1. I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done
already.
2. I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.
3. I will never rush into a job without a lifetime of consideration.
4. I shall meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount
of bodily injury I expect to receive from missing them.
5. I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new
technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.
6. I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the
amount of time given.
7. I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though
infinitesmally small, is not exactly zero.
8. If at first I don't succeed, there is always next year.
9. I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to
change my mind.
10. I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and/or
write the first word, when I get around to it.
11. I obey the law of inverse excuses which demands that the greater the
task to be done, the more insignificant the work that must be done prior
to beginning the greater task.
12. I know that the work cycle is not plan/start/finish, but wait/wait/plan.
13. I will never put off until tomorrow, what I can forget about forever.
14. I will become a member of the Ancient Order of Two-Headed Turtles
(The Procrastinator's Society) if they ever get it organized.

Thursday's Laugh Out Loud

I've read somewhere that the shortened daylight hours make us naturally more lethargic in the winter--yep, that's it, see it's NATURE! I can't control that, can I?

Well, I CAN get up off my hiney and get on my treadmill for 20 minutes....starting next week, yep next week is looking really good :)

Here are some really funny joke lists I've received recently. The first one just cracked me up so bad I snorted when I laughed! Enjoy!

20 WAYS TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY LEVEL OF INSANITY
1. At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars. See if they slow down.
2. Page yourself over the intercom. Don't disguise your voice.
3. Every time someone asks you to do something ask if they want fries with that.
4. Put your garbage can on your desk and label it "IN".
5. Put decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has gotten over their caffeine addictions, switch to espresso.
6. In the memo field of all your checks write, "For smuggling diamonds".
7. Finish all your sentences with "in accordance with the prophecy".
8. Don't use any punctuation.
9. As often as possible skip rather than walk.
10. Order a Diet Water whenever you go out to eat - with a serious face.
11. Specify that your drive-through order is "to go".
12. Sing along at the opera.
13. Put mosquito netting around your work area and play tropical sounds all day at work.
14. Go to a poetry recital and ask why the poems don't rhyme.
15. Five days in advance tell your friends you can't attend their party because you're not in the mood.
16. Have your coworkers address you by your wrestling name, Rock Bottom.
17. When the money comes out of the ATM scream, "I won! I won!"
18. When leaving the zoo start running toward the parking lot yelling, "Run for your lives, they're loose!!"
19. Tell your children over dinner "due to the economy we are going to have to let one of you go."
20. And the final way to keep a healthy level of insanity: E-mail this to someone to make them smile and laugh. It's called therapy.

Thursday's Laugh out Loud--not really.

I've cheated you out of laughs the last two Thursdays. But, I found something even better today. My hubby sent me a great link to a broadcast on gospel.com. It is about contentment, and REALLY hits home this time of year. Especially with me today.

Yesterday, I developed a urinary tract infection, got my period, and a canker sore. And still have the sniffles. I'm wrestling with discontentment, yes, but when I hear this, I think of how good I really have it. Do you ever think about how little Jesus had when He lived here? He was basically homeless. Think about all you have this Christmas and appreciate it--realize "how much you already have" and listen to this:

Thursday's Laugh Out Loud!

I found this funny Mr. Bean video this morning. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it cuts off a little short. And I don't know WHERE you'd get a turkey this big! Hope you enjoy!

Thursday's Laugh Out Loud :-D

Today's Laugh Out Loud is more like a "Wow!" Out Loud. Check out the video below. This took much time and effort for these guys. The video is about 3 minutes long, but well worth it just for the "Wow!" effect. I don't know the chemistry behind this yet, but I'm curious enough to start researching. Hope you enjoy!!

*Edit--Ok, ok, I just went and researched it--there is, in fact, no CHEMICAL reaction at all. It is purely a physical one. The surface tension of the soda (other sodas will work as well) is reduced by dropping the Mentos in, which allows the CO2 in the soda to more easily become gaseous, and the Mentos have little "nucleation" pocket on their surface, where many CO2 bubbles can form, and thus the CO2 can become gaseous and escape VERY fast as a geyser effect. Still, a very cool and creative video--and safe experiment too :) See this link for more info:

Thursday's Laugh Out Loud!!

The video below is hilarious, but he does use a little language that you may want to keep from younger ears. I'm in a wierd mood today, trying to catch up with mundane stuff, keeping the girls happy on a rainy day. I'm down one kid today ("Buddy"), so a little less stress. The exterminator just left--came just after I put the girls down for their nap--couldn't be at a worse time. They're just now getting quiet. I did however, manage to listen to the live Fly Lady broadcast on World Radio. I think it's on each Thursday from 11am to 1pm CST, so tune in if you like Fly Lady. I must admit, I don't follow her advice as much as I'd like, but I have stuck to some basic routines since I first found her. I try to make my bed each day, keep my dishes washed, and do a load of laundry each day. I also am keeping paperwork relatively under control. I definitely recommend her if you are at wits' end with your housework/chores.

Check her out here:http://www.flylady.net/pages/About_FlyLady.asp

Welcome to Thursday's Laugh Out Loud! I totally cracked up with this video. Enjoy!
